SISTER CHRISTINA STRAUS

Sister Christina was born in 1932 and grew up in a large and hard- working family. Before entering religious life, she used her organizational gifts as a secretary. After entering the congregation, she trained to become a teacher. Sister brought to Ministry a deep faith, great dedication, caring and self-giving.   Sister Christina ministered for 23 years as a teacher in Stoney Creek, Kenilworth and Guelph, Ont., and Fort St. John and Dawson Creek, B.C. Her quiet, gentle spirit and warm smile endeared her to the primary students who especially enjoyed the bunnies and baby chicks brought into the classroom, as well as the yearly trips to the maple sugar bush.

Sister Christina shared her gifts generously for 20 years as Parish Minister in Guelph and Elmira. Sister Christina returned to the Motherhouse in Hamilton where she continued her favourite hobby of rug hooking.  In 2019 Sister Christina was welcomed into the London Residence.
