Weekly Pause & Ponder

There has always been a longing in the human heart for a more just, free, loving and creative society. But it was never before possible to fulfill these aspirations, because we had neither the evolutionary drivers nor global crises to force us to change, nor did we have the scientific and technological powers that can free us from the limitations of scarcity, poverty, disease and ignorance. This is the time of awakening for the social potential movement.

We, all of us, are being called to do something unprecedented. We are being called to think about “everything that is,” for we now know that everything is interrelated and that the well-being of each is connected to the well-being of the whole. This suggests a “planetary agenda” for all religions, all the various fields of expertise.

The reason human civilization is tired, depressed, unimaginative in dealing with unemployment, pollution, youth despair, injustice and inequality is that we “do not even know who we are,” as Hildegard put it.  We are out of touch with our “true selves” as Alice Miller puts it. A civilization that denies the mystic is not civilization at all. It offers no hope and no adventure, no challenge worthy of sacrifice and joy to its youth or its artists…. It encourages us to seek outside stimulants to provide meaning for life and defense from enemies because it is woefully out of touch with the power inside.

Every act, thought and choice adds to a permanent mosaic; our decisions ripple through the universe of consciousness to affect the lives of all.  It is now a scientific fact that the ripples we create return to us… everything in the universe constantly gives off an energy pattern of a specific frequency that remains for all time and can be read by those who know how… Our spirits stand naked in time for all to see – everyone’s life, finally, is accountable to the universe.
